How does the session work?
Typically, we meet at a predetermined location. I recommend somewhere you like to go or find beautiful – the beach, the woods, a favourite park, even your home. We will be together for 60-90 minutes working different poses and groupings to capture a variety of looks and images. Is there something you like to do together or want to incorporate into your portraits – your dog, your motorcycle, your grand piano? Let’s bring it in and have fun capturing that part of you.
What do I wear? (My most commonly asked question)
Wear what you are comfortable in. If you are a jeans & T-shirt kind of person then go with it. If this is you, you may feel uncomfortable in formal clothes, and that will show in your photos. That said, dressing in your nicest jeans & T-shirt will help you feel attractive and ready to be photographed. Of course, if you want to rock out your fanciest party wear, let’s do it! I suggest solids colours rather than bright bold patterns and stripes; they can draw attention away from the face, which is really what we are taking pictures of anyway. With a group, I would suggest similar tones and styles to create a unified look to your images, (matching T-shirts are not necessary). As for colours, think about where you want to hang your portraits and what will work with the room. Also consider your outfit from head to toe as your shoes will show in your full length portraits.
How long until I get my pictures?
I aim to get your images to you within 2 weeks, and you can preview them in your password protected private gallery. The gallery allows you to share your portraits with family and friends. You can also order basic prints from the gallery and have them sent directly to your home. If you want something extra special, I can arrange for gorgeous prints and other product such as canvases or albums for you.
Do you edit our images?
Yes. Every image you receive will be fully edited and ready to print. Your images will be high resolution, in full colour and Black & White.
Where do you print your pictures?
I use a professional imaging lab in Toronto. They do outstanding work with superb quality that can’t be beat at any big box store or 1 hour photo lab. When we meet, I will show you the difference.
How do I book you for my wedding?
Send me an email or call me and we’ll arrange a time to get together. We can go for coffee (my treat!) or meet at your home. After discussing your plans and deciding we can work well together, we will book your date. A retainer of 25% is required at the time of booking to hold your date, with the balance due 7 days prior to your wedding day. No other weddings or sessions will be booked once your date is confirmed. The day is all yours.
Can we give you a shot list?
If there is a particular family grouping, special relative or friend, or significant event such as a candle lighting you don’t want missed, please let me know. While I don’t work from a checklist of posed images, knowing what is important to you is helpful to tell the story you want to remember.
